Customer Review: Nicely packaged, but larger than originals

I had set out to buy a tortoise frame version, and a black frame version of this STYLE of glasses, since 'back in the day' I had a nice pair of Clubber-style sunglasses which didn't last past 2004. I set out to find replacements, as I've said, in tortoise and black, even wishing that if the frame was solid, I might convince my optician to pop in my subscription lenses.
I ordered these tortoise frames (clear lenses) from this seller, and the black frame (dark lenses) from another seller.
These arrived in a nice drawstring bag, well protected in packaging. Yet right away I could see that they were too large, in regards to ACTUAL RayBan Clubbers, or even 1980s castoffs. I would estimate that they are 15% larger, and the metal lower rim of the frames just about touch my cheeks.
When the Black glasses arrived (from a different seller), they were even larger, like 20% larger, making me wonder if BOTH models are really meant for costume purposes only.
I've studied these tortoise frames and considered whether there'd be hope in re-sizing, downwards, the frames to make them 'wearable', because I really approve of the actual tortoise-esque parts of these frames. I'm not sure if the gold-tinted metal of these frames would hold up to any alteration or again, if they are worth it.
Trying to be fair to the manufacturer, I once again compared them to a just-bought pair of sunglasses in a very similar style and shape, and they simply are larger, width and height wise. I have an average size face and head, so perhaps people with longer and/or wider faces might not sense that the proportions are amiss.
Were these worth the ten smackers I paid for them? They claim to have uv400 protection, but I doubt I'll wear them outside, so... Overall, I'd have to say that I'm 3 out of 5 stars happy. Your mileage may vary.
