Description of iPhone 3G StylusExcellent accessory for your iPhone 3G or Ipod Touch. Lightweight stylus allows for smooth damage-free navigation across touchscreen! Same technology as other sytlus that retail for $20! Rubber angled tip provides enough contact with screen to allow proper electrocurrent flow to replicate the use of your finger on the touchscreen. Best for typing and selecting rather than "dragging". To use properly, place entire flat edge of angled side, not just the tip of the angle, on the trouchscreen. Item wll not function proplerly if entire angled edge is not making full contact with the screen. Item comes with "pen clip" so that you do not lose it. Great accessory for your Iphone 3G or Ipod touch. Black color available (search Amazon for B001BSBVNA)
Apparel reviews of iPhone 3G StylusCustomer Review: Easy to Use... Rating: 4 Stars
This stylus is easy to use with your iPhone as long as you can remember where you put it inbetween uses. Fun little gaget and a great price!
Customer Review: Does what is says Rating: 4 Stars
I use this stylus on my iPod touch and it works more or less as I expect.
Customer Review: Cheap but usable Rating: 3 Stars
The vendor I bought this pen from (PC Micro Store) sold me another pen at the same time - two prices, two ratings, two product descriptions and pictures - same product.
The "other" pen I purchased was this one:
Stylus Pen CLIP for Apple iPhone, iPod Touch (Metal Silver Body, Black Ends)
I don't know if these pens would be the same product from other vendors or if it was just a scam that PC Micro Store was engaging it but be aware if you are looking to try out different pens as I was.
The pen itself functions OK. I actually hacked it by tapping a very thin piece of fabric over the head with aluminum tape. Why? The rubber sticks to the screen and makes drawing difficult. With the fabric on it is smoother and I am able to get decent results with Brushes and other art apps.
If you just want a pen for typing it should work OK as is. Frankly I feel I would have been better off buying a Pogo stylus instead of going the cheap route.
Customer Review: Somewhat disapointing. Rating: 3 Stars
I like the slimness of this stylus. It's very comfortable to hold and it is more accurate about which keys are pressed than fat fingers are sometimes. BUT... You have to press to hard with the stylus to make the letter appear. In my opinion, it is actually cumbersome because it may be more accurate, but since you have to press hard, you are extremely slow typing. It would be nice if there was a way to attach it to the case when not in use. (Velcro maybe?). I rated it a 3 instead of a 2 because it was advertised for accuracy, not speed. In all honesty, I have gone back to using my fingers because I can hit the return key, correct my mistake and move on, all much faster than I was ever able to achieve using the stylus. Again in all honesty, I haven't tried using it when I have swollen hands and fingers, which is why I purchased it in the first place. If I find a notable difference at that time, I will correct my review.
Customer Review: Works pretty well Rating: 3 Stars
I am using this stylus with an iPhone 3g and it works pretty well for typing on the virtual keyboard. I can type considerably more accurately and therefore faster using the stylus than with a finger, however, you must press the stylus on the screen more firmly than you press with a finger.
It does not work well for "flicking". It is possible to do, but you must press down quite firmly while flicking and the tip of the stylus drags a lot. I think it's best to use a finger for flicking and the stylus just for typing.
I think it works pretty well considering the price.
