There is something just so gross and wrong about throwing away those plastic grocery bags you get at the market, so at our house, we throw them in a drawer in the kitchen thinking we will somehow magically re-purpose them.... but how??? Weave them together and make doormats from them? If only we were so crafty.
This is finally the answer. I bought 3 in fuschia (why be basic, right?) and now I just keep one or two in my handbag at all times so that I can say no to the plastic at the store and just tote everything home in my own weightless little bag. They are also great for everything else, like hauling misc things to and from the car, throwing wet towels/bathing suits in after a trip to the gym or spa, etc etc.
The ripstop nylon is incredibly sturdy (more so than the flimsy plastic bags you get at the store) and carries as much weight or more as you could normally carry in said flimsy plastic bag.
If you're looking for a cool environmentally-friendly bag that's a little less granola and a little more hip, here you go.

I absolutely love these bags! I found them on Amazon, read reviews over and over that convinced me these would be great, but continued to hmm and haw about whether to spend the money on them or not. Luckily, my boyfriend put me out of my misery by buying me a few to try. I say they are well worth their reasonable price because they are a great way to tote your groceries and are very durable.
I have to be honest and say that I am probably less motivated to purchase reusable bags to save the Earth and more motivated by the fact that I need a way to make lugging groceries back from the grocery store without a car as painless as possible. I refuse to buy the "granny carts", so I was looking for a way to lug as many groceries as possible without having to juggle lots of little plastic bags. BAGGU does the trick and helps me feel less weighed down by my groceries. Best of all, I can keep a few pouches in my purse at all times, so I don't have to actually remember to bring the BAGGU with me beforehand. I've tossed them in the washing machine, as well, and they hold up just fine.

These bags are fantastic! I've had them for about a year and they still look brand new despite being used weekly and scrunched up then shoved in a bag after each use.
It's funny, but nearly every time I give these to the bagger in the store, they want to know where I got them saying how cute they are, how easy to fill unlike some bags they get from people, and how much they hold.
I'd say the main problems are remembering to put them back in the car after each trip to the market, remembering to take them into the store each time, convincing the baggers to put more in them that they would put in their own thin plastic bags, and the price - although if you look at the different colors, some are less expensive than others (clearing out the older colors?). Still I'm really glad I have them and have several sets with some in my purse for random purchases and enough to shop for a large family even with baggers who underfill them.
You'll be happy you got these!

Just wanted to say these are the best because of how lightweight they are. You won't forget to use them because it is super-convenient how they will fit in your pocket or purse or wherever without overwhelming. Perfect for urbanites. It's a bonus--one that matters to some and not to others--that they look better than any other similar bag on the market (who wants the cheesy Chico logo all over the place?). A little pricey, yes, but I'm confident the durability makes it worth it--and I bet the cost will remind you to keep good track of them. And they DO carry 2-3 times as much as the grocery store plastic bags. Think weight, not necessarily volume, people. The grocery store baggers often have to give you a zillion bags because they can't load more than a half-gallon of milk and a bag of potato chips in one of their flimsy bags or it might bust.Customer Review: I've had these for TWO YEARS... they're FANTASTIC!

I got a three pack of Baggu bags two years ago, and I love them! They're so great for everything: laundry, the grocery store, shopping trips, the beach... anywhere, and if they get dirty you can wash them too! I put mine in the washing machine on cold and hang them up to dry. My favorite thing about these bags is how much they can hold (truly bottomless pits)... and how small they are when you fold them back up! They fit in a pocket or even the smallest of clutches, which is great if you don't want to carry a full sized tote bag to the store. I have them in the Peacock color, which is a bit darker than the image on the color swatch... but the video that Amazon posted about gift wrapping with Baggu shows the colors accurately. (The Peacock is used in the demonstration). Make fantastic gifts too..... and worth every penny.
