This polisher appears to be built much better and run stronger then other models I've tried, like Conair. However that's not saying much. At best this device gets the dust off your shoes. Nothing more. You can't apply too much pressure to it or it will stop turning. The motor is just silly weak. It's only 1.5 amps. Compare that to a DEWALT DW758 8-Inch Bench Grinder which is a similar device and has a 7.5 amp motor.
Your best alternative is to pay someone $10 to shine your shoes. You could do that 20 times and have shoes that are actually shiny and still have spent less money than buying this and not having shiny shoes anyway.
