Customer Review: Don't buy it for the warranty

I have the previous version of this bag, the Mach 4. When it was sold to me about 5 years ago, it had the same warranty as is on the Mach 5. I used the bag occasionally, but not on every trip I took. I did have to have a handle replaced once, and Boyt covered it. I recently had an issue with a zipper, and I called Boyt again. The person I spoke to (around January of this year) said that not only did they not offer that warranty on the luggage, but she was pretty condescending saying no one covered a bag for as long as I had mine for damage to a zipper.
The bag IS a nice bag, though a bit heavy (four stars for just the bag), but buyer beware on the warranty (Which they advertise heavily as a feature of the bag, hence the lower rating). If that is why you are buying this bag, don't expect to have repairs covered like Boyt claims. I used to tell everyone about my Boyt bag. I still do, but now it is to let them know how they didn't honor thier promise.
