Description of Built Tortuga Lunch Tote, Dots

We look forward to eating lunch each day, whether its homemade lasagna or turkey on whole wheat. To ensure safe travels for whatever we decide to pack, we added a semi-firm shell around the Tortuga Lunch Tote. It cushions our favorite foods from minor bumps and everyday knocks, and when its full it reminds us of a turtle. Not that turtles have anything to do with lunch. We just like them.

Apparel reviews of Built Tortuga Lunch Tote, Dots

Customer Review: Fashion & Function all rolled into 1!
Rating: 5 Stars

My daughter LOVES this new lunch tote for it's fashion. I love it for it's function. It folds flat for storage which was a must. It really does keep the food cold with an icepak inside. Even the icepak comes home still partially frozen. That never happened with cheaper styled insulated lunch bags. The neoprene is easy to wipe down. The zipper is a smooth operating zipper! I hear it can be thrown in the washing machine as well but haven't had a need to do that just yet. My daughter (12yrs) loves how soft it is and the polk-a-dots are the perfect fashion statement right now. I shopped around for a good price point. $25 was fair to me when I was concerned with keeping the contents of their lunch tote cold and fresh as if I had just made it!

Customer Review: too expensive
Rating: 2 Stars

I don't think it's worth paying so much for this product. and it works..I mean how bad can it be..it's just a lunch bag

Customer Review: Amazingly small when empty, holds an incredible amount of food when full
Rating: 5 Stars

I love Built NY products and got the Gourmet Getaway (French Bull design) and Tasty Lunch Tote from retailers who carry their things. One day, I stumbled on the Tortuga Lunch Tote at a Marshall's! It was tossed in with lower quality "BYO" Built products from Target? At any rate, I picked it up for $6.99. Once home, I was extremely curious because it had looked so unwieldy and over-structured. When I unzipped it and began packing it with food, it blew both me and my husband away. The thing held: 1 large bottled water, a bottle of Coca Cola, 3 rolls of prosciutto rolled with mozzarella, a Lean Cuisine box, a box of "ready to cook" ravioli, a can of foie gras, 2 half pound hunks of cheese, chocolates, cookies, and more. And it wasn't even filled to the max. It just held so much in such an organized manner. The structure is actually incredibly helpful! As you fill it, it expands in a predictable manner, so you can just pile things in there either alongside one another or stack them vertically. I adore my Gourmet Getaway and receive compliments on it and the dots Tasty Lunch Tote all the time, but this utilitarian looking black solid Tortuga is one that will never go out of style -- and you will never be hungry carrying it. Light, truly functional, and beautifully designed. Also: Do not be fooled by the "overly-structured" look. It actually folds down into a small, neat, and flat piece.

Customer Review: Great product, nice "adult lunch box"
Rating: 4 Stars

This is a great product for adults that need an appropriate lunch box to bring to work. Keeps things cool for a few hours and has enough space for a sandwich and a couple snacks. When you're done it folds flat so that you can easily take it back home. Only complaint is that it looks like the items might be Built seconds -- mine had a minor defect where the cloth overlapped the shape a bit on one side, looking a bit off. Oh well, I guess that's why you get it cheaper than retail price! Not a big deal, still happy with the purchase.

Customer Review: Perfect size and easy to carry
Rating: 4 Stars

I picked this up on a recent lighting deal just days after I had purchased the Built NY? 6-Pk. Tote. Because of my prior purchase I already knew what type of material and quality I was buying. The material is soft and somewhat stretchable, it's also stitched together well.

I used it to pack up my lunch the day after receiving it and although I was originally concerned about the size of it, I had no problems. Here's everything I fit into it easily: Sandwich, can of soda, banana, ziploc of pickles/chips & grapes and a dessert snack bar. It traveled well and I didn't even bother refrigerating it when I got to work. In following days I've traded out my sandwich for a small frozen meal or a small pyrex container of leftovers. Nothing has leaked, broke or been squished.

My daughter is now asking for one for herself to take to school. The fact that once empty she can "shove" it into her already full backpack to bring home is great!
