My wife has had a pair of these for a while, and wore them in her first marathon... She loves them, but I just couldn't see how they could make that much of a difference. I've been upping my mileage for an upcoming race, and started having difficulty with the IT band on my right leg. Tightness, aching, pain, etc... I started stretching much more rigorously (lack thereof probably being the reason I started having trouble in the first place), but I couldn't back off on my mileage too much due to the upcoming race. So, I bought these out of a bit of desperation.
And they are fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. Though the stiffness didn't go away right away, I noticed a big improvement in my running efficiency. I've never had any real running training, so my biomechanics aren't that great... These seem to have helped out a lot with that, my stride is much smoother than it was before. The IT band issues have slowly subsided without a ton of rest required, which was the main goal. And it started to get cold where I live, and they are warm enough to keep running as cold as 40F.
I'm also planning on using them as a base layer for skiing this winter.

The CW-X Support Web also harnesses the midsection, supporting the lower abdominals, hips and back to channel power through the core. Variable compression facilitates circulation during and after activity, minimizing lactic acid build-up so that you can be active longer and recover faster.
