Got this for my daughter and she had so much fun learning her magic tricks. We had so much fun WATCHING her. Oh - and any toy that doesn't take batteries, that doesn't make tons of noise, that uses lots of imagination, and that can involve brothers and sisters is a GREAT toy in my book. I'm writing this review a couple of years later to report that we still have the kit (minus some pieces that got lost along the way) and it's been used by my son, too. If we can keep the pieces, my other kids will be able to use it. The items are durable enough (the paper bag isn't but you can replace that with one from your own kitchen) I would recomment this to anyone who has a child with an interest in magic.

My First Magic Set holds 12 fun tricks, complete props and secrets for presenting them, and the carrying case to take the show on the road. All magicians need is the cape and top hat. Actually, the 4-to-8-year-olds for whom this set is intended probably also need adult help in reading the well-written and illustrated, 16-page "Secret Instruction Booklet." Parents and kids get together doing the light assembly necessary (such as separating the perforated sheet of cards, folding cardboard to form the magic box, applying a sticker) to four of the tricks. Then pore over the step-by-step pictures and instructions before the little magician goes off to perfect the sleight of hand. For extra help, every trick's instructions are accompanied by a "Secret" that summarizes and explains the key to the trick.
