Apparel reviews of StoAway by CamelBakCustomer Review: Plenty of Hydration Rating: 4 Stars
Im always so tempted to fill it all the way, but I dont usually go on long excursions enough to go through half of the 3 liters it holds. Ive put it through the leak test and mine performed fine. There arent any straps to throw this over your shoulder or anything, but it fits nicely in my jansport backpack or any sport sack for easy carrying. loving it so far.
Customer Review: Wonderful in every way, save that it's persistently broken. Rating: 1 Stars
Gosh, my Camelbak.
I ordered one. When it first arrived I was quite impressed with the construction of it: very durable, it appeared, thick plastic, thick covering, all the stitches looked like they could survive the end of the world. I filled it up, gave it a light jiggle, and it leaked right through the fill hole.
Sent it back.
The second one leaked out the bottom.
Sent it back.
The third one went straight to the water-holding test. It looked fine. Great! We were going out the next morning, so we prepared all of our things, and I just happened to leave the filled camelbak hanging up. When we were getting ready to set out in the morning, I found a nice, small puddle underneath the camelbak. It had leaked -slowly, subtly- out of the bottom.
I have trouble attributing this to a run of bad luck. It's certainly not impossible I just happened to get three, rare, poor-quality stoaways in a row. But even if this was just a bad run of luck, it certainly speaks poorly of Camelbak's quality control staff.
For all the good I hear of Camelbak, I can't imagine myself bothering with another Camelbak product ever again.
