Suits used to be sold with a vest, and two pairs of pants. What happened? This essential wardrobe item not only keeps your torso warm, but it hides your tummy. Like the cummerbund, it softens the visual lines from the waist of the pants to the shirt. Paired with a good tie, and you can walk around all day without your sportscoat. I like to pair this item with slacks and a longer 3/4 length frock. Most importantly, you can use a good waistcoat to ease the transition of colors, patterns, and textures when you mix & match your pants and jackets. But then again, I'm eccentric. All of my sportscoats and suit jackets have the sleeves cut an inch short so that my French cuffs shoot out and show off my cufflinks. Forget about high end designers, and all the latest fashion labels. Stick to classics like Brooks Brothers in The States, and buy Harris Tweed on the other side of The Pond. Wear cheap stuff like this with your Converse Chuck Taylor Canvas Sneakers., Levi's Men's 501 Shrink To Fit Jean, Dickies Men's 2-Pack Short Sleeve Pocket T-Shirts, and MAS Police Motorcycle Jacket Black.
