I bought this in khaki for my youngest son. It has worked well keeping the sun from damaging his head and face.
The hat is made out of sturdy, think canvas. It is not waterproof so if they get wet, it will be a heavy and soggy mess on the head!
Check the sizing measurements with the buyer before purchasing. The medium is more of a child's size. I cannot fit in it, neither can my 12 year old. It does fit the child I ordered it for, so all is good.
Overall a cute hat that is fun for kids to wear.

This hat is soft and fits well. I would have given it 5 stars except that the inside of the brim is tan, not olive, and it didn't say so anywhere in the description.
