I bought this top and the pants as well and love them both. Personally I don't find this wool to be itchy. I bought them to wear during freezing weather in the city, under both professional and casual clothes. These underwear are thin, which works out great for me. I wanted the extra warmth, not bulk!
I also wear them for sports and other outdoor activities. I really love the thumb hole in the sleeve, because it helps ensure my wrists are covered and protected from snow and wind.
