I was a little doubtful when I got my envirosax, it came in a small box. I thought to myself, `this can't be all that, if it's that lightweight'.
When I opened it I found the envirosax was in a smaller sack. You open that and there's the larger sax... uh, sack.
The small sack is 5 ¾ inches by 7 ½ inches with a drawstring in the top. The larger sack is 17 inches by 16 ½ inches, minus the handles.
I have to admit though, and the reason it gets 5 stars, is that it was really thought out and well made for how light it is. It's made from linen and bamboo, the stitching in it REALLY impressed me. Usually you see fraying or stitching that wasn't really good in most sacks but everything in this is sewn up tight.
Envirosax really designed this for use. The handles are wide and well sewn, they used an extra piece of cloth as an inner piece for the handle (instead of the usual one piece I normally see) to go along the bottom of the handles then down in for facing on the bag so that it's more durable. I had a five pound bag of clementines, a large bunch of bananas, a sack of avocadoes and a can of green beans in it (probably a good ten pounds) and it was only two-thirds of the way full, but it was heavy! It carried very well.
Lastly and what I really liked on top of all of that was that the small sack is versatile. You can take it to the store (or wherever) in the small sack then when you go to bag your stuff pull it out and use the small bag for the small things you might buy, like lip gloss or a candy bar ( I could say an energy bar, but I'm realistic). Once you're home, pack the large bag in the small and you're ready to go again. You save space and the environment without using plastic bags.

It's been almost five months since my review and I have to amend it.
I have this bag, and a reusable bag from Whole Foods that I got for a dollar that I take shopping. While this bag will last longer because it's solely cloth and well made. But after using it, the opening is a pain to get things into, and if you have boxes and cans, you pretty much have to dump things in. While the Whole Foods one, stands up straight and I can put a lot more in. I use it first. I would have to change the stars (if I could) to three. I can buy a lot of the dollar ones and recycle...
