Customer Review: Bug Off with Insect Shield, Safe for Pregnancy and Kids

As a nursing mother, and a doula I question the safety of bug sprays all the time. Of course I don't want to stay inside in the summer, but I also don't want to play host to a bevy of bugs. The last thing I want is to have my skin absorb chemicals strong enough to deter or kill bugs - or even inhale fumes from a spray. Enter Insect Shield.
I received several sample bandanas from Insect Shield and today, after two days of heavy rain and hot sun I decided to plan our vegetable garden. This required moving through low lying bushes, digging up grass and generally being around muggy areas with bugs. I wore the bandana on my head as a do-rag and didn't have any bugs flying around my head or face. The rest of my body did not suffer from insect bites either but was not covered or protected by anything so I can not be certain of the results. I think a better review would have been of some clothing and then a hike through the woods -this would definitely prove the validity of the Insect Shield.
I even wore the bandana to my Zumba class, sweating aerobics and bicycling home and I didn't experience any adverse effects. Unlike run off from sprays, or residue and tackiness that can occur from topical treatment, there was nothing. No smell, no residue.
