Description of Fisher Pens Bullet Space PenWhen closed, Bullet Space Pens are the perfect size to carry in your wallet, pocket, purse, car glove box, organizer or toolbox. When open it's a full sized, evenly balanced writing instrument.
The original Bullet Space Pen was conceived in July of 1948, Paul Fisher was soon machining a new pen design shaped from solid aluminum. It became our first Fisher ball point pen, the 400 Bullet Pen, and arguably the most popular pen of the twentieth century.
Cited as an outstanding example of industrial art, the classic design of the Fisher Bullet Pen has been exhibited for years in the New York Museum of Modern Art. The Bullet's timeless styling has been the topic of many art books and magazine articles. Often imitated but never duplicated, the Fisher Bullet continues to be our most popular pen.
Apparel reviews of Fisher Pens Bullet Space PenCustomer Review: Great pen, great price...if you can stand the quirks of its size Rating: 4 StarsI could not be more pleased with this little guy despite its quirks...it always writes, it's compact, it's sleek, and the matte black finish leaves ZERO fingerprints. (You do have to occasionally have to wipe oil off of it, but that's far better than having to polish it every time you take it out.)
My main problems with the pen stem from its size. It's way too damned thin for my fingers, and posting the cap on the end isn't terribly comfortable. Since it's not one piece the way full-size pens are, it never feels quite the same and is a chore to write with after about 10 minutes (at times I don't even bother posting and write with the pen stub). Those are likely the breaks with all compact pens, though, so it hardly matters overall. Sadly, 4.5 stars isn't a review option here.
Customer Review: No leaks in the pocket - even in 100+ degree heat! Rating: 5 StarsI've tried almost every pen out there, looking for the perfect one for me. Turns out that this is it - At least in my humble opinion. Others have commented extensively about key features like the write-anywhere-anytime ability, smooth-writing, solid feel, ink doesn't smear (even for lefty's like me), made in U.S., reasonably priced, etc. I wholeheartedly agree with all that.
However, my favorite feature isn't mentioned much.
My top reason for loving this pen is that I can (and do) carry it in my pocket always without fear of it ever leaking. There's a rubber o-ring that keeps it sealed. I frequently carry it while working in the 100+ degree summer heat and never had any issues with the pen "exploding" like most others will do in those circumstances.
Customer Review: Compact and Handy Rating: 4 StarsHandy pen that will fit in pocket or purse without taking up much room. Durable construction. Writes well for a ballpoint.
Customer Review: space age pen Rating: 5 StarsMy first fisher bullet space pen was
over 10 years ago. I have used one
since then. Must have misplaced my
last one. that required ordering a
new one. They just do the job very
effectively and are so convenient to
carry.
Customer Review: Great for a motorcycle Rating: 5 StarsCheck out the upper limit on temperature for this pen. I hope my motorcycle never approaches it, but other pens have leaked and malfunctioned. Writes on thermal paper such a receipts from gas stations.
