I am recovering from back surgery, and having the past 3 months off work has led to some unwanted poundage around the middle. Now that I'm up and more active, I was dismayed that some of my shirts and dresses showed off my new love handles and tummy bulge. I figured this would help while I worked on my weight.
It arrived in a timely manner. Upon opening it, I could hardly believe that I would be somehow shoehorned into it, but I was game to try. Put it on, sucked in, and fastened the hooks (not as hard as I imagined it to be. I looked significantly trimmer in it. Tried on one of my shirts, and it looked pretty good. You could not see the rown of hooks in the front (I read the reviews about turning it backwards...but believe me, there was no turning that baby around once it was on. It was there to stay).
I had no issues with back fat rolls over the top as some indicated they did. The trick is to order it bigger than you think you need. I'm 5'7, 150 pounds, and I was HIGHLY offended to need a Large, but need it I did. If you get the proper size, you won't have issues with it rolling. Mine stays in place, and is surprisingly comfortable to wear all day. The top should be right at your bra line, or a smidge lower.
It is helping with my posture, which in turn helps my back pain a bit.
My only slight issue (and its not the garments' fault), is that with some shirts, your shirt may tend to cling in the back and it may ride up after you've been sitting or walking for a bit, and people will see the Nipper. I've only had that happen once. I'm thinking if I rub the inside of my shirt with a fabric softener sheet, that might not happen. If you are wearing a sheer fabric, it will show through, of course. There's no perfect solution.
All in all, WELL worth the money. If you are very overweight, it will not turn you into a teeny supermodel. But it will nip you in a tad, and make you look better in most your clothes, while you are not suffering wearing it. To me, that's what I paid for.
