The product description is misleading and not accurate. The seller lists this as "Genuine GI US Military can openers P38 or P51". These are NOT genuine military P-38 and P-51 can openers. These are the "GI Type" made in China.
Real US can openers will say "US Shelby co."
The ones purchased from this seller (Army Universe) have "MIL-J-0837" on the P-38 style and no markings on the P-51 style. Also they are not made of steel. They use a shiny soft metal that bends easy and failed while trying to open a can.
The original can openers are a fantastic tool with many uses. This is due to their quality and hard steel used in their construction. These are not the same quality.
