I have bought this field messenger bag primarily to carry my Study Bible, notebook, and a small book.

I use this bag to store my ammo and handgun cleaning kit everytime I go to the range. It is a solid bag and very heavy feeling to it.
So it feel just right for men. It can take some beating also. It is very tough bag, you probably can use it for hiking also. If you ever
go backpacking and after setting up the camp spot and you want to scout out the area. You can leave your main backpack and use this to store basic items like compass and etc while scouting. Good Bag overall.
