This umbrella is really sweet! I got it for my 2 1/2 year old niece and she never wanted it closed. It felt very sturdy and well made. It slides open and closed easily without a tricky button to push, easy for her to do by herself. The ruffles are pretty. Haven't actually used it in the rain yet, but I am sure it would be fine!
