Just got this jacket today, and I can tell it will be very useful. Very well constructed, the "bluebird" color is lovely, and it's incredibly thin and light. Seems like it will hold up well to rain and wind, though. It's also a very fitted jacket, which is a nice alternative to wind jackets that look like trash bags. However, because of that, it's also little smaller than I had imagined. It does fit very well, but I couldn't fit any big sweaters or sweatshirts underneath. If you plan to wear this with a bunch of layers, go one size up. Otherwise, this is a fabulous rain/wind jacket for your basic hiking/outdoorsy needs and from a very reliable brand.

The comfort of an everyday jacket, the performance of a technical waterproof, breathable mountain shell. The Gamut jacket is light enough to wear all summer and stormproof enough to be your rain jacket. A favorite for hiking, travel, cycling and everyday wear.

Ideal for windy, wet conditions, the GoLite Women's Gamut Jacket versatile stretch, waterproof breathable shell combines the comfort of an everyday jacket with the performance of a technical waterproof, breathable mountain shell. Light enough to wear all summer and stormproof enough to be your rain jacket, it's a great choice for both hiking and cycling. It features an adjustable hood with draw cord, Velcro adjustable cuffs, and fully taped seams.

It's made from GoLite's new Trinity stretch, waterproof-breathable fabric, which is constructed of a polyurethane membrane that's laminated between two layers of bonded four-way stretch polyester and treated with a durable water-repellent coating (DWR). This results in a fabric with excellent stretch and waterproof protection, plus more breathability than regular storm shells. The stretch allows for terrific range of motion regardless of the activity, and the waterproof protection keeps you warm and dry whatever the weather. Testing on the Trinity fabric indicates a waterproof level of 10,000mm and a breathability level of 10,000g/m²/24 hours.
