Customer Review: my feet feel so pampered

These fluffy cushion crew socks by Gold Toe are very well made and they keep my feet warm. In fact, they have that extra heavy cotton fabric to absorb any perspiration and that's a nice feature. I started to wear these not just during the day but also when it's cold at night and I want socks on my feet to help keep them warm and comfy!
These crew length socks have a reinforced heel and toe; this makes them last longer and they still feel very comfortable on my feet. The socks come in white and other colors including navy blue and brown; I like that.
Whatever you do, don't dry these socks at high temperatures. Exposure to very high heat in the clothes dryer will eventually result in your socks becoming too loose on your feet. The fabric loosens so much that the socks will "bunch up," perhaps even as low as your ankles when you wear them--that's very uncomfortable and it doesn't look too good, either. Dry these socks at low temperatures and they'll stay as comfortable as ever.
These socks by Gold Toe are some of the best out there for us guys. They keep my feet extra warm during colder weather. They are manufactured very well so that I get my money's worth.

I would never give Gold Toe Cotton Fluffies anything less than 5 stars; they are one of my favorite things, but I want to caution people that the color "Navy" is, to my human eyes at least, virtually identical to "Black."
I love my socks, but I have a real problem matching them up when I sort my laundry, and it's not as though I am color-blind. I fear that it will be a challenge to distinguish these from true black socks when they come out of the dryer.
About 25-years-ago, Gold Toe manufactured Cotton Fluffies in a much wider variety of colors. I would pay a lot of money for a new pair of Kelly Green Cotton Fluffies, should they ever be re-issued. I think Gold Toe may be missing out on a real opportunity to market their socks in limited edition colors, like VW Beetles or Beanie Babies.

The best way to describe everything that's good with these socks is to tell what's gone wrong with them.
First off, they wear out at the heels. I never had this problem with other socks because they always wore out at the toes and got tossed in the garbage long before the heels had a chance to wear out.
Second, they seem to stiffen and lose their cottony softness after a couple trips through the washer and dryer. Other socks either never had that softness to begin with, or they were so flimsy that I wanted them to lose their softness.
I don't remember where I last bought them (It's been a very long time) but now I can't find them in any department stores. I'm glad Amazon has them. It's now time to replace the entire contents of the sock drawer.

These are NOT the "Cheap-O" white socks. They are the Gold Toe White Fluffies we all look for ! Extra heavy cotton weight to absorb sweat and provide that soft cushion feeling for your feet. The elastic bind holds the socks up just fine without the top coming undone after many washes. I wear white socks everyday and buy 2-dozen at a time. These socks will last me 5-years ! I had been reading that the White Cotton Fluffies so many of us had come to love
over the years are a thing of the past. I didn't want to believe it and held onto the hope that Fluffie users were just overreacting in some kind of low-grade mass hysteria. Well......the bad news is I've proved to myself that the bad news is unfortunately all too true. I have old white cotton Fluffies and recently purchased white cotton Fluffies (purchased from the Gold Toe website). The old socks and the new socks are very easy to separate. The new Fluffies shrink up about an inch and a half shorter than the old ones. The new socks definately feel less substantial and they are more elastic. Bottom line, they feel like cheaper socks than the old ones. Exact same difference with the black cotton Fluffies which I also wear: less substantial, more stretch, cheaper feel. So why does a company that makes a great product that many customers consider the best of it's kind just up and throw it all away? You tell me.
