Customer Review: Great Case, Great Company

This review is for the most recent version of the TuneBand, which is an August 2009 revision.
I have used the prior version of the TuneBand for nearly a year. It worked great for me. I used it as an everyday case and for running. Some of the complaints here regarding the flexibility of the strap while valid didn't really interfered with the function of the TuneBand for me. The elastic strap did need to be tightened a little more than ideal to keep the iPhone stable on my arm.
The only other issue I had was that sometimes the older version of the case would block the proximity sensor on the phone. This allowed the screen to stay on when speaking into the phone and one's cheek to do some random dialing. That was pretty annoying. (This only occurred after Apple replaced my iPhone under warranty. It never happened with my first iPhone leading me to believe Apple moved the sensor slightly.)
Grantwood has revised the TuneBand and these issues are resolved! The rubber material is a little thicker in the back (where the arm-band passes through.) The elastic strap is wider, and the velcro does not extend quite to the edge and therefore will not irritate the skin as sometimes happened with the old narrower strap. The opening around the earpiece and sensors is larger so I'm sure the case will not interfere with the light and proximity sensors.
So, while I was quite happy with the old TuneBand I feel the new one is better.
When I had some troubles with the earlier TuneBand (see above) I emailed Grantwood Technology. I got a very prompt reply. In short order I was emailing an owner of the company who was totally committed to making sure I was happy with the product or my payment would be refunded -- this was after I had been using the product for months! When I told them I was unhappy with the TuneBand covering the sensor they immediately offered to send me another one (or refund). When I told them I was considering enlarging the opening around the sensor they said, `Go ahead, if it doesn't resolve your issue we'll send you a new one." I was totally surprised. With other companies I've always been given the line that modified product are not supported. In this case I did enlarge the opening, and it did resolve my issue. A month or two later I get an email from Grantwood Technology. They had a revised TuneBand, and would I be interested in testing it! I was, and I have. The new TuneBand is much improved: The negative comments you see in these Amazon reviews have been addressed. The unit holds the iPhone stable on the arm when running, the sensors are not covered.
So, what we have here is a nice looking product that works great, produced and sold by a company that is very responsive and stands behind their product. One other thing. This thing is selling for only $12.99! When I bought my iPhone I wanted something right away so I paid something like $30 for the Incase case at the Apple store. It split near the camera opening after a short time.
