Apparel reviews of Original Black Hairagami - 99901Customer Review: Fantastic for military buns! Rating: 5 StarsI'm in the Army and do my hair in a bun every day using a sock and elastic hair bands. I hate using the bands because they pull and tug at my hair so I am ALWAYS looking for other ways to make a neat and tidy bun that STAYS throughout the day- my sock buns won't hold in place for a run.
My hair is a little bit below shoulder length, is a mixture of curly, wavy and straight and is thin but with volume (weird I know). I would characterize myself as "challenged" when it comes to doing my hair, but decided to try the hairagami despite reading so many negative reviews. I LOVE IT!!!
I haven't had any problems with it snapping back and hurting my fingers, and really have only experienced it snapping before I was ready for it to only a couple of times- and that was because I pushed on it. You just have to be gentle and patient. Devote a few minutes to practice with it. Pay attention to how far you need to pull it down your hair before rolling under and how many turns it takes you before snapping it into place. If you do this, you should come out with the same results every time. I would recommend making sure your hair is slightly damp before rolling it up. I was able to go on a 4-mile run yesterday without one hair coming out of place. That, to me, is the true test. I haven't had to use as much styling product on my hair and the bun stays put and is held in place throughout my work day. I am getting ready to order more for me and for all the other ladies I work with in my office. I don't ever want to be without this!!!!
Customer Review: Hairagami Rating: 1 StarsWhat a disaster this thing is!
I could not use it, it kept snapping back while trying to use it.
It hit the top of my hand and my knuckles numerous times.
Would not stay in my hair either.
Customer Review: Great Product But Can Be Frustrating Rating: 4 StarsI've always had a bit of a Princess Leia complex. When everyone else was laughing at Leia's cinnamon bun-hairdo, I was thinking, "Whoa! How does she DO that?" Since I have no one to help me, doing my own hair up is challenging, but this product does make it possible to create many different styles that are both fun and practical. It takes a lot of patience, though. Basically, it's just a couple of extra-long slap bracelets sewn together. In fact, I've made smaller versions on my own by doing just that. But it does want to snap closed on you if you aren't extremely careful. With practice, it gets easier, but it is always a bit of fight. Also, I have often rolled it all the way up only to discover that it won't close in the right direction, meaning that i have to take it out, turn it over, and start all over again. But once it is in, it is comfortable, looks great, and is secure enough to stay in no matter what you do.
Customer Review: It takes some practice Rating: 5 StarsI'm using the hairagami for buns in my hair. I'm in the military and I heard of this product and thought I would give it a try. So it took me three days to finally get this thing. The first three days I wanted to toss that thing across the room. It always snapped on me and then curled up and I had to start all over again. Well then I finally figured out how many turns it takes before I have to roll up and what place on my hair I start rolling up and which way the bend has to be on my hair. I place my hair in a ponytail. I place my hair in the hairagami and slide it all the way over. I do not place my hair in the middle of it because the ends of my hair will end up coming out and making the bun look bad. So I pull the hair to the end of the hairagami, and controlt he snap of it. It's difficult but you need to learn how to control it. I roll it tight up until it gets to my head and let it bend up. I then massage the hair and make it meet in the middle until my hair has covered the entire hairagami. I will use another hair band if I need to control a couple of hair strands here and there. Now that I know how to use it, I love it. It's tough but all it takes is a lot of practice.
Customer Review: Hairagami -- Great Product Rating: 5 StarsThis product is sooo helpful for maintaining my hair on a daily basis. I use it mostly to creat a bun for my very long, curly and thick hair. It takes a lot of practice to be able to do it quickly on your own though. It is nice to have a second person to help put it in. Once you have practice its soo easy, roll and snap and you are gone. I find it works best with wet hair. But that could be my hair type. Great for anyone who needs their hair out of the way with a bit of a fashion flair. I suggest this to any bun wearing individual.
