i am in the beauty industry and i find this to be a very versatile product. my only problem with it (as has been discussed by the previous review) is that the metal bone tends to snap together if not carefully held. it is a loud and rather painful (to the fingers) occurrence. the secret to using hairgamai is to usssse the product on slightly damp hair. you will find that the procedure will go on veyr smoothly as the hair becomes more pliable.Customer Review: Practical, but Painful

The instructions say you have to open Hairagami but they don't show how
exactly to do that. It took me a long time to figure out that to open means to straighten it by pressing the metal part underneath the fabric. It is difficult to use it for the first couple of days until you practice a lot.
The ends of the hairagami often roll toward each other and hit fingers very painfully. Also, it takes a lot of effort to use it without assistance especially on waist-length hair. It will work better on shoulder-length. It also pulls you hair quite a lot if you don't take it off cautiously or roll too tightly.
The instructions show that you can make 8 different hairstyles with it. For three of them you will need a second hairagami which is a way to rip people off.
Generally it's a unique and practical hairclip.
