Apparel reviews of HUE Women's Hidden Cotton LinerCustomer Review: Works for more than its original purpose! Rating: 5 Stars
I bought these because I had recently purchased an amazing pair of heels that my feet were too narrow for. Having tried on cotton socks with these shoes, I knew that wearing socks made my feet wide enough that the shoes fit fine. But because they were heels I needed socks that didnt show. So, I bought these. Granted, these liners are thinner than your average sock, I ended up layering 3 liners on one foot and 5 on the other (my feet are different sizes), but it did the trick wonderfully! The edges do show a little, which is why I bought the cream color since it is close to my skin tone. Besides, they work great for their original purpose as liners, they fit well on me, even though I have little feet (size 5.5)and are very omfortable!
Customer Review: Buy them!!! Rating: 5 Stars
I wear a lot of closed toe casual flats and my other liners always show somewhere aroudn the shoe--even my "low cut" liners. Not to mention, my other liners will eventually slip off my heel. Not these babies!!! These liners are cut with just enough fabric to keep them on your feet. And the best part is, they has a silicone rubber patch on the inside of the heel to help it stay on better. Mine haven't slipped off yet! I never see them peeking out of my shoes either :-)
I wear shoe sizes 7-8 and have the liners in the S/M size--perfection!
Customer Review: Wore them to travel Rating: 5 Stars
Walked all over Paris this summer, no problems... My husband wore the large size, worked great (his foot is 10.5 US (43 European). Good product, sticky back made all the difference, and they were not visible with our shoes.
Customer Review: Not completely hidden, but hidden enough. And more importantly, they stay on. Rating: 4 Stars
I've worn liners before that constantly slip off my heel, bunch up under my arch, and require me to stop every ten minutes or so to fix them. These stay in place because of the little rubber or silicone thing on the heel - I haven't had to adjust them yet. They feel quite comfortable and less flimsy than stockings.
The front part, the part that covers my toes, go past where my toes join to the ball of my foot and thus the socks/liners aren't completely hidden. You can see the front edge of the sock (and a little bit of the back edge too, but that is much easier to adjust and hide). I got a pair in black and the shoes that I wear them with are a relatively matte black, so it's not especially visible. It does change the shape of the opening of the shoe though - for instance, the front of the opening of most shoes is relatively squared off (by which I mean the part of the shoe goes over the top of your toes has a somewhat squared edge). The silhouette the sock makes against the front top part of the foot is sort of round. If it were more square, it would probably be less noticeable.
That said, I find them quite acceptable when I wear my shoes with long trousers. None of my friends ever noticed them until I pulled my trouser leg up a bit and called their attention to it. Also, the fact that they cover my foot beyond the edges of my shoes has been helpful to me in breaking in a new pair of shoes; they probably saved me a blister or two.
The over-coverage of these liners would be more problematic if I were wearing a skirt or dress. Another reviewer mentions that the black ones may cover more than the other colors, so perhaps in cream or tan or white these socks would be more hidden. But my thinking is that if they are going to show at all, I'd rather have the edge blend in with the shoe rather than have a non-matching skin-tone sock edge visible. When Amazon has it in another color, I will try Hue's Cool Contours Low Cut Foot Liner Accessory (currently it is only available in white). From the image, it looks like that liner does not quite cover the full length of your toes, as this one does.
As for sizing: I am a size 8/8.5, and the S/M fits me quite well.
Customer Review: Good but not great Rating: 4 Stars
I purchased these socks to wear with ballet flats. They definitely serve their purpose and I will continue to wear them on a regular basis. However, they almost always show and require adjustment throughout the day. I wear a size 7 shoe and purchased the Small/Medium size, and they seem like they are just a little too big. The patch at the heal helps keep this sock from slipping off of the heal, but I am concerned with how well it will hold up after a couple of washes. Also the 'Cream' color is more 'Nude' and the 'Tan' color is much darker.
