I'am very disapointed with the item.
I've bought it for Tai Chi Fan routines, but it's too light and does not "opens with a flick of the wrist". Not to mention that once you have opened it, it's pretty hard to get it closed without affecting the fluidity of the movement, or without your audience noticing the effort!

The ribbing is about 12 inches long, the cloth flows 4 inches over the end of the ribbing. The fan is nice for performances and dance!Women
