I read a lot of reviews when trying to pick out the right sun hat for son. We have a pool in the backyard and love to spend time outdoors in the summer and I wanted something great to protect him from the sun. And this hat is it. It is super light weight, the helmet portion has a mesh liner, the brim is gigantic and there is a toggle that makes this wide range size work for our 4 month old. Yes, the toggle is in the back of the hat but if you are not trying to make a fashion statement you can easily turn the hat around and not worry about the toggle resting on their head when seated. Bought this hat on a whim for our recent Hawaii trip and it arrived the day before we left, which was great. It's a very soft, floppy hat and has good coverage so our son was well shaded both on his face and on his neck. It's really too big for him (he's 14 mos old), but the cinching mechanism in the back helped and definitely, the tie under his chin helped to keep it on. I like that it's a hat that he can wear for a few more summers to come.Customer Review: Great hat for year round wear.

We needed a hat to protect our son from the blistering sun during the summer months and Santa Ana days. The wide brim protected no only his head but his face as well. He did not get any sunburns and was able to look around comfortably and not close his eyes. I purchased this hat for my 1 yr. old when we traveled to Colorado. It was perfect with the chin ties and head adjustment. It kept her pretty little face, head, and neck from sun burning. I would absolutely recommend this to any parent.
