Description of Ingrid & Isabel Women's Maternity Everyday BellabandWear your non-pregnant pants a little longer and your maternity fashions a little sooner! The BellaBand is a seamless knit band you wear at your waistline, over your unbuttoned pre-maternity pants or over slightly big maternity pants and skirts. No one has to know your pants are undone or loose -- the BellaBand smoothes everything out. The BellaBand is made of soft, sumptuous European yarn that is hard to find and expensive to buy. It gives the final product, a knitted BellaBand, significant loft, thickness, and a sueded feel to the hand which is soft to the skin and gently grips the clothing it covers to hold itself in place. The yarn is knitted with nylon and with the highest gram of blended yarn per square inch which gives the product a heavy weight, incredible stretch and recovery, comfort, support and an opaque surface.
Apparel reviews of Ingrid & Isabel Women's Maternity Everyday BellabandCustomer Review: Great! - Definitely go a size up Rating: 4 Stars
I bought a size 3 bella band even though I normally wear a size 8 or 10, and I am so glad I did! It is perfectly comfortable and does its job of keeping my unbuttoned dress pants up. I hate feeling anything too tight on my tummy, and I am thanking all the other reviewers that tipped me off to go a size up. THANK YOU! (Now if I could just find something to fight off morning AND evening sickness...)
Customer Review: I can still wear my jeans Rating: 4 Stars
I purchased this band in black. Thus far it has been great. I double it over so it is thick enough to hide my unbuttoned pants. If it were not doubled over, it would not be thick enough and I wouldn't be using it as much. If you aren't happy, try folding it and see if that helps.
Customer Review: A great idea that just doesn't quite work... Rating: 3 Stars
Every woman who's ever been pregnant has been faced with the dilemma of maternity clothes: To buy, or not to buy? In these financially challenging times, the temptation not to buy is very strong. And I wish I could report that the BellaBand is a solution to your first- and second-trimester wardrobe woes, but I can't.
I bought one as soon as I found out I was pregnant, and pretty soon I was putting it to use. But not for long. After a couple weeks of struggling, I put it in the closet and didn't use it again. When I got pregnant, I was no waif -- about a size 14 -- and I grew about 2 sizes in about 2 months. Maybe it works better for skinnier women, but on me, it just didn't cut it. It rolled down; it rolled up; it never felt secure. I always felt as if I were one false move away from my pants falling down. It was a real disappointment.
If you're reading this review with a baby on the way, you're probably wondering what I did do. Well, since properly-fitting maternity pants for non-skinny women are nearly impossible to come by, I learned how to make do. Since the BellaBand couldn't salvage my pre-pregnancy jeans, I sprang for 2 pairs of Gap jeans with an elastic top. Those were the only maternity clothes I found that fit. I'd never worn plus-sized clothes, but I discovered that 1X-2X plus-size clothes with elastic waists were nearly as good as correctly sized pregnancy clothes, and often much, much cheaper.
Sorry, zaftig ladies. I wish I had better news for you. Perhaps others have had better luck, but I can't recommend the BellaBand.
Customer Review: Not for the hour glass figure. Rating: 3 Stars
My husband and I found out not too long ago that we are expecting. I am an insatiable researcher. I research any and everything now before I purchase it. The reviews for this overall, (on another website) were quite favorable. I decided to purchase this product in white and black.
The product idea is ingenius and I gave the product 3 stars because I believe that if it is only worn for a short period of time and for women that have less 'junk in the trunk', it would probably work just fine. The size was not the issue for me, it was that this band rolls up like a fruit roll up or old fashion window blind as soon as you sit down or try to move around! It bunches up right around my hips! It ends up looking like a cigar by the end of the day. That is NOT a good look. Which of course defeats also the purpose... It also has a tendency to dig into your stomach as well. At this stage, I have a very tiny pooch, so I am not what most would consider 'showing' though I can see it, but I wish that this product was geared to also assist hour glass, curvy figures. I am petite, but curvy meaning I have a very small waist, hips etc. It seems that this product and I just do not get along and I wish we did because I really need something like this! Oh well, off to purchase some maternity jeans and long shirts in a couple of months...
Customer Review: Works at first, but you still have to adjust a lot Rating: 3 Stars
I bought these when I first found out I was pregnant because my pants were getting really tight. We all know how that feels. When I wore them with jeans I thought it worked good, but at times found myself pulling on the bella band quite a bit to keep everything smooth and comfortable. Yes, it holds your pants good and if I wouldn't have had the bella band I wouldn't have been able to wear my non maternity pants at all. Just be prepared that it's not the perfect fit. It will ride a little and you will pull and tug a little. That's ok because it was well worth not having to purchase maternity clothes, that wouldn't have fit me at the time anyway. So if you are wanting to wear those regular jeans for a bit longer purchase one of these. They will help you get through until you are totally into maternity clothes.
