Description of Ingrid & Isabel Women's Maternity Lace BellabandWear your non-pregnant pants a little longer and your maternity fashions a little sooner! The BellaBand is a seamless knit band you wear at your waistline, over your unbuttoned pre-maternity pants or over slightly big maternity pants and skirts. No one has to know your pants are undone or loose -- the BellaBand smoothes everything out. The BellaBand is made of soft, sumptuous European yarn that is hard to find and expensive to buy. It gives the final product, a knitted BellaBand, significant loft, thickness, and a sueded feel to the hand which is soft to the skin and gently grips the clothing it covers to hold itself in place. The yarn is knitted with nylon and with the highest gram of blended yarn per square inch which gives the product a heavy weight, incredible stretch and recovery, comfort, support and an opaque surface.
Apparel reviews of Ingrid & Isabel Women's Maternity Lace BellabandCustomer Review: Pleasantly surprised! Rating: 4 Stars
I'll be honest, I was a skeptic at first. But since ordering 2 (1 black, 1 white) at 13wks pregnant, I have worn the Bella Band almost every day. I'm normally a plus size gal (sz 18-20) and knew from my last pregnancy that cute maternity clothes would be A)Hard to find, and B)Not very flattering. The Bella Band has allowed me to pretty much stay in my pre-pregnancy clothes the entire time! Some pants, when unzipped, do stay up better than others with the band, like khaki's or work slacks. Heavy denim jeans may require constant re-adjustment as they tend to drift down throughout the day. Pre-pregnancy, my waist was quite a bit smaller than my hips, so after sitting/crouching, the band does need some re-adjustment cuz it will creep up towards my waist, but I don't mind it much. Wish I would have ordered the style without lace, as the lace frays a bit if you are constantly tugging or re-adjusting. Overall this is a great product that has saved me a ton of money I would've spent on ugly maternity clothes. My suggestion is to buy one and try it. I think they will even come in handy after baby when pants may still not button/zip. PS- Just invest in a comfy/cute pair of maternity jeans!
Customer Review: Looking to buy more! Rating: 4 Stars
This is a great product. I'm 31 weeks into my second pregnancy and though I didn't use it to extend the life of pre-pregnancy clothes, I'm using it now to cover the bottom of my belly. I'm carrying this baby much lower than my first, so even maternity camisoles don't cover the bottom of my belly any more. I slip on my one belly band almost every day to keep my skin from hanging out. It also helps to keep my pants from sagging when my belly pushes them down. The lace does seem to roll up on me - it may be just the way my body is shaped, but it still holds in place... just not as pretty. I turn my band upside down when I want a different look and let the thick, no-lace side show on the bottom. This seems to hold better and not roll as much.
Looking to purchase a few more bands for the last bit of this pregnancy, post partum and future pregnancies.
Customer Review: Get a belly band- this or any other brand Rating: 4 Stars
I purchased two of these belly bands (black and white with lace) as well as a one-size-fits all from motherhood for about $15. I find very little difference in quality and utility, so you might consider your alternatives- these are pretty expensive for what you get.
That said, having a belly band has really saved the day for me, and I highly recommend them to all pregnant ladies out there.
A note on sizing, I was between sizes (2 and 3 I think) and opted for the smaller one. I'm glad I did, it fits quite well, at least for me at 23 weeks. By the end, I'm guessing I won't be wearing my nonmaternity pants so no biggie if I grow out of it. It's similar in fit and size to my other one-size band, a curious thing....
As a friend of mine also pointed out, these make nice tube tops to sleep in for light support up north....
Customer Review: Great Overall Product Rating: 4 Stars
Great product - holds well. Pretty stretchy, but snaps back with ease. Helped to expand my pregnancy wardrobe considerably, and also helped to provide minimal back/stomach support when wearing a dress. Smooths things out pretty well - not perfectly, of course - it would be uncomfortable or made of steel to do that!
Overall a worthwhile investment; made two pairs of pants, three skirts and a pair of shorts wearable again. That's a minimum of $250 that it saved me!
Customer Review: How does this work for other people? Rating: 1 Stars
I bought a bella band to stay in my pre-pregnancy pants while I'm still in this "not a baby bump, just kinda fat" stage. I couldn't figure out how this could possibly work, but I assumed that it would since so many people rave about bella bands.
Within 20 minutes of putting it on, the band had crept all the way up around my ribcage and my pants had fallen down to my hips. The only way I can imagine this actually working would be if it somehow connected to the pants to hold them up.
I can't be the first woman with hips to ever try one of these bands, can I?
I'm hanging onto it, perhaps I'll find it useful later in my pregnancy.
