Apparel reviews of injinji Performance Micro ToesocksCustomer Review: Stopped Blisters, But Not Bruised Toes Rating: 4 Stars
I ran 13-15 miles in my regular socks and got one big blister. Since then, I bought these socks and have used them on all my long runs. So far, I've ran up to 18 miles and no more blisters! I plan to use these socks for an upcoming marathon. I still have the bruised toes, though. I run a lot and was hoping these socks would stop my toes from bruising too, but unfortunately, they have not. I have yet to find that magical item. I have changed shoe sizes, brands, socks, bandaids, etc. Any ideas?
Customer Review: Good socks, but pricey Rating: 4 Stars
These fit well with my Vibrams and are great for just wearing around the house, but I've noticed they pill incredibly easily and are pricey. The fit is a bit higher than I anticipated, but they're good socks and work well while running.
Customer Review: Good For Vibram Five Fingers Rating: 4 Stars
These socks work good with Vibram Five Fingers. They are a little snug. Good product to help keep feet warmer in cold whether.
Customer Review: Works Well With Vibrams Over Short Distances Rating: 3 Stars
After reading other reviews on Amazon about toe socks for Vibrams, I noticed that several reviewers recommended getting a size slightly smaller than your show size so the toes on the sock don't bunch up while running...which is what I did. Unfortunately, I've noticed that while running distances of 3-7 miles in cold weather, the socks slide down from my heel to underneath my arch. I did not have this issue when I ran in warmer weather. This is annoying to say the least. HOWEVER, I have not tried a larger size to see if its a sizing issue or a sock issue.
PROS:
-Work with Vibram KOS's
-Lightweight
-Absorb a LOT of water (sweat or otherwise)
-Keeps your feet cool (as do Vibrams)
-No problems with blisters (ran without socks for a while before I bought these, so newer runners might get blisters)
-Don't take up much room
CONS:
-Slides down heel in cold weather/over distances
Customer Review: Meant for Vibram shoes - WITH Modification Rating: 3 Stars
I used these with my Vibram KSO and Bikila running shoes.
Since I'm a long-distance runner, you pretty much have to use socks to wick away any moisture from your feet that comes from sweat, rain, etc. Otherwise, your going to get blisters, etc.
However, as stated above, some of the toes do not fit well in the Vibrams with the sock. There are also pressure points near the transition between your toes that can cause circulation issues.
So, as an ideal compromise, I cut off all of the sock toes, except for the big toe. I also modify the remaining 4 toe holes in the sock, so that there is a single large hole that encompasses the 3 middle toes, and a final hole for the pinky toe - in addition to the remaining big toe insert. This configuration keeps the sock from rolling up whilst you run and also feels comfortable with your toes in the Vibram shoes.
