Customer Review: Excellent concept, poor execution

I really like the concept of having to work to turn off one's alarm clock. I have a hard time waking up and find that this clock helps since I have to walk across the room to get my laser. The only down side is that the alarm is very quiet and is not annoying. The alarm is the same 5-second tune played over and over again, not a buzzer. I can easily sleep through the tune when wearing ear plugs, and it isn't too difficult to sleep through without. I suggest one gets a serious alarm clock (or two) in conjunction with this alarm clock.Customer Review: Batteries are a bummer

I wish I had noticed that both the clock and lazer require batteries. There is no electric cord for the clock and the batteries are not included. The lazer's batteries (which do come with the clock) are really tiny and specific. Not the kind you'll find in the grocery store. So once they go, it'll be a total pain to replace them.Customer Review: Not loud enough

This alarm clock works as advertised, but the alarm itself is barely audible, which negates the virtue of having to get up to turn it off.
Also, it's difficult to set--so don't lose the instructions, as the procedure is not intuitive.

My eight year old son loves this clock. The laser works and it looks great in person. Only one problem - we've changed the batteries a couple times to be sure it wasn't the batteries' fault, and it still runs slow. Wish it wasn't a pain to return for a new one...
