Bought this for my 3 year old son. It was supposed to just be something for him to take on the plane so that he could carry his coloring books and crayons...but it has turned out to be his favorite 'toy'. I don't think we went anywhere without him clutching on to it like his life depended on it. It lasted several plane trips from US to Asia, and then 2 weeks being drug around in Asia, and all the way back to the US, so it's definitely very rugged. Safe to wash and dry in a delicate cycle, so that's a definite plus.
The only issue I had with this was that the straps do not adjust enough for a 3 year olds size It was a little loose on my son, but I don't think it made it uncomfortable for my son at all. It probably would have fit a 4+ year old perfectly.
