Customer Review: Not your Daddy's Jeans

The most highly rated review here is from 2006 "BEFORE" Levi's changed the material and tayloring on their jeans.
You not only now have to order your waist size one size higher than prior to 2008, but the levi material used is of inferior quality than the old classic Shrink To Fits of years past.
As a result, no matter how you wash or dry them they get permanent crease wrinkles all over them that are very noticeable from day 1. And, you can't get rid of them with numerous washings.
The cut isn't even the same.
I'm switching to Wrangler as they are still made from the good old fashioned thick levi material without all the wrinkle issues and fitting issues for a lot less.

I almost NEVER return merchandise and although I ordered black and received blue, would have kept them anyway but these jeans arrived WITHOUT A ZIPPER and buttons sewn where the fly should be! The description says "Levi's Men's 501 Shrink To Fit Jean" and nowhere does it say these are irregulars without a zipper. What a waste of my time. I also ordered Wrangler Men's Rugged Wear Jean, Relaxed Fit, Vintage Indigo Denim and they're fantastic, at $10.00 less!
Caution! These jeans cannot be returned without speaking to a customer service rep in India.

I puechased 2 pair of 501's. January 29th 2009. I have not been able to wear them. I have washed them at least 50 times.
The material is so wrinkled and stiff they cannot be ironed. The reason it has taken me so long to write as I wear nothing but 501's and they do take time to soften, this is inferior. One pair is fine the other is junk. I am sending t he pair that will not soften to the Levis in San Francisco to see if they will tgell me the problem.

These jeans are described as "SHRINK TO FIT". I received 'original fit' preshrunk. Not a huge deal but if you have grown to know the differences between 'preshrunk' and "Shrink to fit" as I have, be aware that you will NOT get what you have paid for and be disappointed. These jeans should have a better description than just shrink to fit. I ordered 29 x 32 assuming they would shrink a little. They shrank to approximately 27 x 30. Time to donate to charity.
