Apparel reviews of Lewis N. Clark Comfort Eye Mask, BlackCustomer Review: Great solution to sleeping in a bright room. Rating: 5 StarsWhen venetian blinds wiped out all use of the traditional "Pull-down Roll-up Window Shade" in the USA I was left with no way to get a good night sleep during the day. Room darkening blinds still do not seem to seal out the light enough. This mask was comfortable and let me sleep anywhere in an emergency, like in a car when the roomate is partying and the sun is about to come up, in a bedroom with venetian blinds before a night shift at work, or while the roomate does homework with the light on all night. Feels good sleeping on all sides.
Customer Review: Good, but not great Rating: 3 StarsI've used this for about three weeks now, and while it's definitely an improvement over t-shirt on head, or towel on head, it still lets light into my eyes (I admittedly have a big head).
Also, it's kind of warm (very padded), so summertime without A/C is less fun.
Customer Review: Very pleased! Rating: 5 StarsThis is really comfortable and blocks the morning sun really well. The adjustable band is large and soft, very well made!
Customer Review: This mask might work for someone, but not me. Rating: 3 StarsThis huge, thick, puffy mask might be good for you, as long as none of the following apply to you:
1. You sleep on your side
2. You have difficulty breathing through your nose when you sleep
3. You have eyebrows
First of all, the mask wraps onto the sides of your head, so it's uncomfortable to lay on your side. You may find yourself shifting around at first. But, you'll eventually get to sleep.
Next, the big puffy cushion at the bottom is effective at keeping light out once you position it correctly, but it will also put pressure on your nostrils. This will be very bothersome if you have difficulty breathing through your nose at night. Make sure to wear your Breathe Right strips.
Finally, when I woke up, my eyebrows hurt. The mask, huge as it is, covers your eyebrows. As a result, it rubs your eyebrow hairs all night, shifting them around. After several hours of this, the eyebrows ache. This was the biggest problem. "The mask sure keeps the light out, but is this aching sensation worth it?!!"
Also, because this thing is so large and puffy, it will push on your eyes. When you blink, your eyelashes and lids will be rubbing against the mask.
If someone would design a comfortable pair of blacked-out swim goggles, I'd rather wear those. This thing is like wearing a pillow on your face with a strap.
Customer Review: OMG!!!! Rating: 5 StarsI would give this eye mask 10 stars if I could. I was working the night shift for two years and needed something to help me sleep during the day. I did completely cover (blacked out) my bedroom windows BUT the light coming through the bedroom door (around the frame and door) was just enough to keep me tossing. I remember many of my patients who wore eye masks and thought how pretensious of them. Well let me tell you after ordering this eye mask and wearing it a few nights NOW I can not sleep without it. I thought it would take time to get use to but who ever styled this mask knew what they were doing. It is soft and very comfortable. The roll that goes over the bottom of the mask is the key to total blackness. No light gets through. Now my husband can watch TV before he goes to bed and I can put my mask on to shut out the light. Im planning on ordering more of these for back up and traveling. Anyone who works the night shift should have this mask.
