After reading the other reviews, I was very hesitant to purchase one. However, I decided to reach my own conclusions on this unit, purchased it and I just used it for a 4 day trip to Germany. Since I like to wake up earlier than when breakfast is available in my hotel, this definitely came in handy, since my room didn't have a hot pot. With 240 voltage, is heats water fast, ready in less than 2 minutes. I've now used it for making about 10 cups of coffee in my hotel room (using Starbucks instant coffee packs), saving money and time. So, it has basically paid for itself already, even if it crashes soon. So, I would recommend it, it is small and easy to pack, easy to use, and vital to get that first cup of coffee in the morning
