I was worried about buying something online for my newborn nephew since I couldn't feel the material in person, but I ended up being very happy with this purchase. The cotton is soft and I also like that it's tagless, so there's nothing to irritate the baby's skin. The only potential downside to this item is that the rubber-type material used for the "saying" is thicker than I expected. It's very cute but I'm wondering if it will start to crack with repeated washing. I wish I knew how to properly describe it, but basically it reminds me of the thick iron-on graphics from older t-shirts (80's flashback!), and not the thin silk screening type stuff you see on t-shirts nowadays. I don't know if this applies to all the onesies (I bought the tiger one). But that being said, it is baby clothing after all and he'll grow out of it in a couple of months before any major wear/tear, so I think it's an excellent deal for $5. I might buy a couple more!
