My wife bought me the Manhattan Portage Dana as a birthday gift in 2006. I've used it daily on my commute to work (& school for a time) via public transit. I've also taken on a number of vacations as my carry on. It's showing very little wear for being 5 years old. The main strap has a little fraying, but nothing that can't be mended and reinforced. The only thing that I wish the bag did better was stay place while riding a bike, but that would be a problem with any messenger style bag. Also, the bag is plenty comfortable without the padded strap wrap.
