My daughter has been skating competitively for about 2.5 years now and these tights are her favorite. They are thicker than some she has tried which keep her legs warm and they hold up much longer than many. We have tried other Mondor tights that have consistently had runs in them after the first wearing !
The tights connect under the skating boot with velcro so you do have to be careful about snagging the tights when they are not being worn. It is a good idea to velcro them together rather than having the velcro tabs inconnected since that's when they will attach themselves to the tight and snag.
The over-the-boot vs. inside the boot style is personal preference, but the over-the-boot keeps the boots from getting so scratched up and it makes the girls leg look longer which is very flattering on the ice.
This will be the tight she wears for the rest of her competitive days.
