Apparel reviews of Mountain Hardwear Dome Perignon HatCustomer Review: My go-to hat for winter weather Rating: 5 Stars
This beanie is the most versatile cold weather hat I have owned. The hat is warm enough for Northeast winters and the design offers excellent protection from cold and wind when you really need it. I always buy an extra one during the off-season in case I lose one. My only wish is that MH would tone down the logo design in the front.
Customer Review: Warm Rating: 5 Stars
This is all I need in the winter. It's my ONLY winter hat. It's comfy enough to sleep in on those December camping trips. It also works well in the fall when it's not quite jacket weather but a hat it effective. Part of my essential gear!
Customer Review: Seriously nice and warm hat Rating: 5 Stars
Third Minnesota winter for this hat. I found it, fairly dirty, in a thrift store, and have considered it one of my best thrift store finds. It's quite warm, snug fitting on my head and really cuts off the wind quite effectively.
Customer Review: Fantastic Rating: 5 Stars
It works so well it blocks some sound from my ears. Warmest beanie ever. Sometimes too warm and I opt for a thinner one.
Customer Review: A warm dome is a happy dome. Rating: 4 Stars
Let me get this out of the way first...I am a tight wad. I debated on whether to spend the $30 for this piece of winter apparel. After using it in the snow, cold and wind I am glad that I did. The Gore-Tex Windstopper material does indeed do a fine job of "stopping the wind". It has good coverage for my head, ears and comes down pretty far on my neck. All to keep me warm and cozy. I think, but am not sure, that the GT Windstopper material is only on the head part. The front, side and back are just fleece.
You will notice a decrease in hearing because of the hat, but it's not that big of a deal. Also it does have a "gnome" like quality to the design towards the upper, back part of the hat. I just push the poof down and it looks alright. Again, not that big of a deal.
Overall I am pleased with the hat and glad to have spent the money on a quality piece of apparel.
