This is soft & warm & cuddly (well for the significant other, maybe). Got the anthracite with black trim-just beautiful! This is a terrific value, fits well & always looks nice. Washes in the machine nicely-dry about 5 minutes, hang up to finish drying -it's done.
In Alaska, it keeps one warm, worn simply over a turtleneck. This is a great sweater for that "in-between" weather-here in Alaska in mid March, it's great for that 35 degree weather. A hat, a turtleneck, a warm vest, jeans, & gloves & you're all set. So, this top should be good for your neck of the woods.
No rough wool allergies here-it's quite soft. A great gift!
UPDATE: This has been washed several times & still looks new-I'd still give it 5 stars.
