I bought this sensor as an extra so that I wouldn't have to move the wires when I took the wii other places. I am very disappointed in this sensor. It will not sense the remote if it is more than 7 ft. away. The seller was very nice and sent me a new one but the new one was just as bad. Customer Review: Works like the original

It replaced the original sensor bar that came with the wii (rabid rabbit chewed the original wire in half) and it works great! Customer Review: Not as good as the original

We use our Wii in two locations so I thought it would be handy to have an extra sensor bar. Even though this is a very simple device and looks just like the original, the performace is not as good. We use it from about 8-10 feet. You must be directly in front of the unit to work, if you are off to the sides it does not work. When it does work, the pointer on the screen jumps around considerably. For both locations I swapped the original back in with the same lighting conditions and there was no problem with the original bar.
