I ordered the black. I thought at first they are too small because the lace doesn't fit past my calves. But I realize that they are ankle length, not calf length! Or they are meant for really really skinny women. The lace can only fit around three inches up my leg and I'm 145 5'5". They are kind of see-through like someone else noted. I think it depends on how far the fabric is stretched, but it looks a little darker in some areas than others - splotchy. Would probably be okay if you wear a dress or skirt that comes right above the knee.
