Apparel reviews of OGIO Locker BagCustomer Review: GREAT LOOKS BUT FELL SHORT IN A FEW DEPARTMENTS Rating: 3 Stars
WHEN I SAW THIS BAG ON AMAZON IT APPEARED TO BE EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED. A BAG THAT WOULD FIT INTO ANY LOCKER AT THE GYM, OPEN FROM THE SIDE WHILE IN THE LOCKER AND HAVE A SHELF TO CREATE AN UPPER AND LOWER COMPARTMENT TO KEPT ITEMS SEPARATED. MY FIRST DISSAPOINTMENT WAS THE INTERIOR SHELF. AT FIRST I WONDERED IF I HAD GOTTEN A DEFECTIVE BAG. THE "SHELF" IS A PIECE OF VINYL COVERED BOARD. THE BOARD HAS TWO NYLON STRAPS ATTACHED AT ON END IN THE CENTER AND THE STRAPS ARE ANCHORED TO THE FRONT AREA OF THE SIDE OPENING. IT WAS NOT A FIXED POSITION SHELF AS I HAD THOUGHT IT WOULD BE. THEY CERTAINLY COULD HAVE DESIGNED IT THAT WAY. AS FAR AS I COULD TELL, THIS "SHELF" HAS TO REST ON TOP OF WHAT EVER YOU PLACE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE BAG WHICH MEANS YOU HAVE TO REMOVE WHATEVER YOU PLACED ON THE TOP OF THE "SHELF" FIRST TO GET AT WHATS AT THE BOTTOM. I REMEDIED THIS WITH FOUR THICK NYLON ZIP TIES WRAPPED AROUND THE METAL FRAME OF THE BAG AT EACH CORNER. THE "SHELF" NOW RESTS ON THE HEADS OF THE BAG TIES FAIRLY SECURELY AND I CAN ACCESS BOTH COMPARTMENTS AT THE SAME TIME. NEXT PROBLEM I FOUND WAS THE SHOULDER STRAP. TOO SHORT, AT LEAST FOR ME. I PREFER TO CARRY MY BAGS, WHAT EVER KIND "SLING STYLE" OVER THE SHOULDER AND ACROSS THE CHEST. BUT THE SHOULDER STRAP THAT CAME WITH THE BAG DIDN'T SEEM TO HAVE ENOUGH LENGTH TO DO THIS COMFORTABLY. AGAIN, NYLON ZIP TIES TO THE RESCUE. WITH THEM I ADDED ABOUT 4 MORE INCHES OF LENGTH AND THE BAG BECAME MUCH EASIER TO CARRY. THIRD ISSUE, ON THE INSIDE OF THE BAG "DOOR" THEY HAVE SEVERAL POCKETS, THREE ARE FOR THING LIKE A COMB, BRUSH, TOOTHBRUSH, ETC. THEN THERE ARE THREE POCKETS THAT HOLD THREE SMALL EMPTY BOTTLES INTENDED TO BE FILLED WITH SHAMPOO, LIQUID SOAP, ETC. REALLY VERY USELESS AND A WASTE OF SPACE IN MY OPINION. WHO WANTS TO BE TRYING TO REFILL THESE BOTTLES EVERY WEEK OR OTHER WEEK! THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO INTERIOR POCKETS BIG ENOUGH TO HOLD A STORE BOUGHT BOTTLE OF SHAMPOO, BODY WASH, ETC. I KIND OF WONDER IF WHOEVER DESIGNED THIS BAG HAS EVER BELONGED TO A GYM????
Customer Review: Pocket-Poor from a Woman's Point of View Rating: 3 Stars
There isn't a better bag than an Ogio for use at the gym, but I'm disappointed in the design changes made since I bought my first one in 1995. (Yes, it lasted 16 years of use averaging 3-4 times a week.) They made all the pockets SMALLER! What a woman really wants in a bag is lots of ROOMY pockets, especially on the outside. (We really don't need room for a pair of size-18 shoes on the inside, so the extra room in the cargo hold does nothing for us.) The pockets on the front and back are about the right size for an e-book and a steno pad. (Right... no one uses steno pads any more.) The old full-length outside pocket where I used to put my street shoes in the morning, and my office shoes at night, is history. The side "magazine" pocket can barely hold a news weekly. The big glossy mags that women prefer? No way to fit in a "Fine Gardening" or an "O". What I actually used that pocket for in the old days was HANGERS. Most women who work out in the morning don't wear their office clothes to the gym, they carry them, on hangers. Those hangers don't fit inside the unit, and now they don't fit in that side pocket either. Open up the Locker Bag and the pockets on the inside cover are too narrow, too tight, and too shallow for the deodorant and cologne, the day's jewelry and the critical utensils that can't be transferred into the low-budget containers they offer. I've removed the stitching that separates 2 of the pockets so that I can tuck in a juice box; there is no way to secure a water bottle inside. And once you've stretched the elastic, it is not e-l-a-s-t-i-c any more.
I'm hoping this letter finds its way to the people at Ogio who have a good product that appears to have been designed by men, for men. How about another version for the Ladies... with bigger POCKETS?
Customer Review: It is just ok Rating: 3 Stars
I really wanted to like this bag. I am a sucker for organizational tools and this one, in theory, was perfect. With its little compartments and shelf it was easy to organize. However I found it to be too heavy and cumbersome to carry. It also is about an inch too deep to store in the locker at my gym. It fits fine width wise, just can't close the locker without crushing the front of the bag. I tried for a couple of months to make this work but just ended up switching back to my duffel bag.
Customer Review: Not for Bigfoot! Rating: 2 Stars
My wife has had one of these for years and loved it. So I ordered one--and returned it immediately. If you have big feet, there's no fitting a pair of sneakers in it. I wear size 12's, and they stuck out about 3 inches when I tried to fit them in. They might go in if I ignored the parcel shelf down the middle and just stuffed them in vertically--but then they take up the whole gym bag. And I'm not talking basketball shoes here, just regular New Balance sneakers. My guess is that if you wear larger than a men's size 9, you'll have trouble. I also echo another reviewer's comment that the main compartment needs a double zipper, it is awkward to try to get the one zipper around the bottom of the bag.
