Apparel reviews of Pacific Trails Boys 8-20 Bubble JacketCustomer Review: Doesn't look warm enough for harsh weather Rating: 3 Stars
My son is 8 years old and a size 10. I bought the Pacific Trails Puffer Jacket in medium and it fits him well. The length goes past his bottom. It's lightweight, feels like a feather, and the lining is thin. I'd have liked something more heavy duty; but my son likes it, perhaps because it doesn't feel too bulky. It's okay for mild winters in Southern California. I'm not so sure I'd like it if we lived in an area that snows.
The outside nylon feels thin and I'm not sure would hold up to rough play. Fortunately, my son doesn't roll around in the dirt.
It's been raining and my son has been wearing it to school. He says the jacket is waterproof and I must say he has not come home soaked, so it must be keeping out some of the rain.
PROS:
+ lightweight
+ son thinks it's attractive
+ lined
+ hooded
+ waterproof
CONS:
- not heavy weight enough for harsh weather
- lining very thin
- nylon feels too flimsy for rough play
