I bought this jacket for my 12 year old son who is at that age where wearing a raincoat to school isn't "cool" and it was a constant battle. This one is light and will roll up small enough to be put into his backpack along with his books etc. if it's not needed by the afternoon which encourages less "lost" items! The hood is substantial and it's long enough to cover to the back of his thighs keeping dry at the bus stop.
