We have had this bag since 1999 and it is still in great shape! We used Rick Steve's navy bag, his books(the best), and his silk money bags on a trip to Europe in 1999. They were all wonderful and we had a trip of a life-time on a budget, thanks to Rick Steves. My husband and I both have the covertable carry-on and this was our "large" bag for our trip. We traveled light across Europe and moved quickly on and off trains and around countries(felt sorry for people with big bags with wheels on stone streets).
My husband now travels monthly and is still using this bag. After all of these years our bags practically look new and are strong and sturdy. This is money well spent for luggage!

I picked-up one of these babies for a recent trip to Costa Rica. It was plenty big enough for 12 days worth of clothing (with strategic reusing of certain garments) and it's expansion feature worked great for stuffing in my souvenirs for the trip home. It appears to be of quality construction though curiously one of the zipper pulls was missing. If I had time I would have exchanged it for another but basically bought it the day before I was to leave.
It also has enough pockets and cubbies to organize your travel gear and easily access everything while on the go. I also appreciated converting it into a back-pack which is easier for me to carry than with the handles. In summary, I believe I'll be using this travel bag for many years to come!

This is an almost perfect carry-on bag. It's very light, but well constructed. Lots of well placed pockets. Expandable when necessary (I have not used this feature yet). I have not used the backpack straps yet because the handles are well placed and well padded. The shoulder strap is also well padded and works fine for long walks through airports. The backpack straps are probably best suited for walks through town. This bag works best with Rick Steves packing cubes. The only thing I would change is the orientation of the zipper on the main compartment, the "hinge" is on the bottom of the bag, meaning the flap opens long ways. If you have a lot of stuff in the outer pockets this is a little awkward.Customer Review: Just got it and it's great so far!

I just received it and am impressed already. The Blue Spruce color is much nicer than the picture on here, deeper blue and classy. It came with the shoulder strap which I didn't expect because most places say it must be bought separately. The shoulder/waist straps seem to adjust well to my average female 5'6" body and my breasts don't feel squished. Lots of pockets in various sizes and the included secret pouch and mesh pouches will also come in handy. So far, so good!Customer Review: smooth traveling

My son took this backpack with him to Europe for weekend trips and a weeklong trip while studying abroad. So far he has not complained and is very happy with the ease of use, the capacity and the comfort. He wasn't crazy about the appearance would much rather have had a sharper looking travel pack, but it is designed well and fits everything he needs.All in all he seems satisfied with this purchase.
