Description of Rick Steves Silk Money Belt-Materials: Spun Silk
Apparel reviews of Rick Steves Silk Money BeltCustomer Review: Don't leave home without it. Rating: 5 Stars
I used one all through Europe and have ordered a second for my other half when we go to Mexico. This is comfortable and adjustable. It is lightweight and thin and easily hidden under a shirt, summer or winter. Yes, one perspires, but with the silk you can rinse it out in a sink and it will be dry in a short period of time. The plastic insert ensures the persperation doesn't soak your papers/cash. Cotton or other fabrics might work, but they would not rinse and dry as quickly. This is sturdy too. Rick Steves knows better than to recommend bad items. He will run into us no matter where in the world he goes and we will tell him about it!!!
Customer Review: A must have for the traveler Rating: 5 Stars
I recently came back from a trip from Ireland and with the use of this money belt, it was probably one of the most useful items and perfect for protection without worrying about being pickpocketed or any money/important document being taken away. Prior to this, I had no idea that money belts were even out there and then I came across this silk money belt, just in time for my trip to Ireland The separate pockets were very convenient to separate the dollars and euros and small change as well and any card sized item in the bottom pocket on the lower part of the belt. I highly recommend it for the overall traveler.
Customer Review: great item for a traveler Rating: 5 Stars
I bought this item last year for my travel around Asia. I heard about how travelers were prime targets of pick pockets and I wanted some protection. I placed my passport and large cash denominations in the money belt. I didn't get anything stolen. But wearing the belt gave me piece of mind so that I could actually enjoy myself. I still recommend carrying a wallet with you and putting a day's worth of cash in it. Then you won't have to reach into your money belt and give away your secret. Also, if you get mugged, hopefully they'll be satisfied with the wallet and leave you alone.
Customer Review: I Use It Every Time I Travel Rating: 5 Stars
This is my second Rick Steves money belt. I lent the first one to someone and never got it back. I use it any time I travel. It goes under my clothes and under my underwear. I never worry about pickpockets or purse snatchers. I saw a review where someone said it was hard to get things in and out of it. You should carry a small amount of money somewhere other than the money belt, so that you don't have to go in and out of it very often. I put some things in a snack-size ziplock bag before I put them in the money belt to keep them from getting sweaty.
Customer Review: Comfortable & Discreetly Hides What I Want Rating: 5 Stars
Yep, it's good. Nice and soft. That's the important part. Anyone can duct tape their valuables to themselves and be uncomfortable. The silk makes it nice and comfy. Had this on for 20 hours of flight and travel to India from the USA.
Inconspicuous. It's not easy to see you have it on - or at all. I supposed if you wore something see through or tight you might be able to. If your money belt is bulging. In which case you should be able to afford body guards or guides.
