I've used two of these for two different trips. They take a lot of abuse (sweat, stretching, repeated washing) BUT while in Thailand I actually had one fall off me right onto the street as I was getting off a bus in Buriram. Fortunately the Tuk Tuk driver who saw it happen was honest and told me about it. My passport and all my cash were in it. The problem is a design flaw in the plastic clip. I never noticed the clip until it failed on me. I think they put it there so you can unclip it to take on and take off (instead of taking it on and off by putting it over your head). After the incident I simply bypassed the clip and put a Grannie knot in it for the rest of my trip. No more problems, but wish someone would have warned me.

Very comfortable material and so sleek you may forget you are wearing it. I wore it for 17 days straight and most of the time forgot I had it on. The zippers are placed so that you can open a pocket without having to look to see which one you are using. Credit cards easy to get to - plenty of room for passports (I carried two) and lots of cash and other documents. Strap is extremely long - will fit any person I have ever seen. Only complaint - after a couple of weeks hiking in 100 degree heat the plastic liner did stick closed - but that was also great to keep the sweat out of my documentation - so I don't know if it was that bad. Love that fact that I took out the plastic liner and threw it in the washer. Ready for my next trip with my pouch!!Customer Review: Use of Money Belt

I think a lot of people have the wrong idea about the main use of this belt. This is not a wallet, purse or fanny pack. This is simply a layer of security for your most valuable items... Passport, extra cash, things you need to keep safe for the future.
I would highly recommend taking out EVERYTHING you need for the day so you 1) Don't have to struggle to get into it while traveling/shopping/etc and 2) Don't let the people you're hiding these from know they're there. Take out the cash you intend to spend that day, take out the tickets for the train or show you're going to that day, and just use it to hide the items of more long term importance.

Overall good quality, but one star reduced for accuracy of product.
The picture and description of the natural color one on the Amazon site shows the 2nd zipper revealing two compartments - one for cash being bigger than the one for credit card. The one I received has both compartments of equal size, as can also be seen by the seam in the picture of the black money belt and pictures from other sellers. I'm guessing this is the newer design.
Additionally, the product packaging says it has a "Removable plastic insert protects against moisture". I do not see any plastic insert nor anything removable.

Bought this for a recent trip to New Orleans due to pickpockets/muggings in the French Quarter. Very soft and lightweight silk. The strap is stretchy, so when you set it to your size, it doesn't dig in. The strap is very long, so it could be worn by people of many sizes. If you're a smaller person, you may have to alter the strap so it doesn't hang down. You do sweat wearing it, but it dries out fast. The plastic sleeve insert kept my money completely dry, and the belt was undetectable under my pants.
