I don't understand the bad reviews for this item. It is what it is, a nice, cheap child's toy. My daughter said it was a great addition to her Hermione costume. We have had no issues with it bending or paint coming off it. If you want something more durable, try breaking a twig off a tree out in the yard. The wand is sturdy, full-sized and nicely designed, even if made of plastic. The kids wanted their wands so they could play "Harry Potter", so this was much more appropriate than the beautiful but more fragile and very expensive collectors versions available.Customer Review: Magical Wand
