I wanted to try these because organic cotton is so very soft, even after repeated washings. My son has not yet arrived, so I haven't tried them yet, but I have put them on my daughter's stuffed animals, and can tell the velcro is too much. They put a generous strip on the front, which I guess is ok. BUT, they also put a long strip on either tab, which means the diaper is hard to take on/off. These have true velcro, not aplix, so it's a tougher on/off already. More velcro also means more pilling/lint (which you wouldn't get with aplix). I haven't tried to alter them yet, but once our son starts wearing these, I'll probably cut/resew the velcro to about 20% of what it is!! They are super cute though, and as I expected with organic cotton: super soft. If I had to do it over...might just go with the Under The Nile organic cotton to save $$ and hassle of resewing.
